We
had the great pleasure of celebrating, last
20th April, the grand opening of our new
inclusive center downtown Marseille!
After ten years
of migrating from one place to another to successfully complete our
activities,
after months of research and weeks of intense efforts to renovate our
new
premises, we had the immense joy last month to celebrate the opening of
our new
center, with all our local and international contacts, who were able to
come to
Marseille for the occasion.
In addition to
the usual convivial activities (welcoming new members, sharing meals
and
blessings together), we had the honor of enjoying two dance shows
organized by
CALEM's friends: Andrew Graham,
Rita and her friends

Moments of spirituality, but also community,

moment for us to share with you our activities at the CALEM Institute,
the
moment for you to get to know the rest of our members.
First evening, Sunday, May 5 from 19h; the
day
before Ramadan is already Ramadan:
- Els, one of the participants to our progressive imam.a training
program, will make inch'Allah an introductory speech to Ramadan, to the
concept
of fasting that exists in different traditions, which is traditionally
practiced
in every group of islam
- At the launch of the Ramadan evenings, it will be important to
remember that these moments of spiritual communion, but also festive
activities,
are open
to all, that we will learn from each other, including from people who
do not
call themselves Muslims who teach us about Islam, about spirituality in
general
- These evenings will be convivial moments especially during the meal
(discovery of culinary Arabo-Afro-Islamic specialties), cultural in the
second
part (reading of texts, poems, music, etc.), and spiritual (prayer of Tarawih -
Ramadan mediation in inclusive group, for those who want it,
facilitated by L.
Zahed and other hafidh-as
- reciters
Thank you for

Every night you will be welcome to share the
meal
together, mostly healthy food and menus inspired by various spiritual
traditions, each bringing what he / she / they like to eat, drink.
With activities:
- more spiritual on Mondays,
- cultural Wednesdays,
- Academic Fridays (djumu'a
and dars -
weekly joint prayer and sermon).
Specific events:
- an activity dedicated to sharing food with the homeless or the poor
(with the social samu at night, or other)
- Invitation of an Imam woman to share her feminine vision of
Ramadan,
- and every Friday evening an intellectual shall be invited to share his/her
representation of spirituality with us during our seminars.
